Link Housing wins Social Housing Management Transfer

October 11, 2017

Link Housing is proud to have been awarded the tenancy management of around 1,900 properties in Hornsby, Ryde and Ku-ring-gai as part of the Social Housing Management Transfers program.  The properties are currently managed by the NSW Department of Family and Community Services (FACS).

Link Housing is the largest and oldest community housing provider (CHP) in Northern Sydney, operating in the area since 1983 and currently managing over 1,500 properties. Link Housing was selected following a rigorous evaluation process that assessed applicant’s capacity to deliver quality services and positive outcomes for social housing clients.

Link Housing CEO, Andrew McAnulty, welcomes the decision and is excited by the opportunity to build on the organisation’s existing portfolio and continue to deliver exceptional social outcomes.

“We are proud of our strong track-record when it comes to providing housing and social support for our communities and we’re looking forward to continuing to deliver client-focussed services for those across the affordable housing spectrum including those unable to afford market-priced private rental or at risk of homelessness”, Mr McAnulty said.

“Through the Social Housing Management Transfers program, Link Housing will be able to leverage its community networks to deliver high quality, long-term outcomes for tenants and applicants, while also helping build the skills and size of the community housing sector. We support the Government’s vision for a stronger, more diverse social housing sector and we look forward to playing a lead role in making this a reality in Northern Sydney”.

Mr McAnulty added that Link Housing, along with FACS, will be consulting with tenants at length over coming months to ensure the transfer of management has little or no impact on tenants’ day-to-day lives.

“Link Housing is looking forward to working with FACS, our own Tenant Advisory Group, existing support partners and other community housing providers in the area to ensure a smooth transition of services for tenants”, he said.
